The Spirit Barn is vital for you to have on Moonstone Island. The game is a mixture of life/farm simulator and monster-capturing titles. You develop relationships with the NPCs while building a small area and collecting creatures known as Spirits. You can only have three with you without a place to house your Spirits. A Spirit Barn will keep more Spirits for you, yet you must have unlocked the structure’s recipe before you can build one in Moonstone Island.Â
How To Unlock the Spirit Barn Recipe in Moonstone Island
The Spirit Barn recipe is your reward for completing the Spirit Research: Taming Spirits 101 quest for Zed, the nerdy observer at the Science Center. You find the observatory at the southwest tip of the primary Moonstone Island. Zed will hand over the mission to you after you talk to him. The quest requires you to capture a level 5 Spirit or higher.
You don’t complete the quest if you level up one of your Spirits to level 5 or higher. Leveling your Spirits will take time in Moonstone Island. Players have to progress their skill tree to increase the level of Spirits they can capture. You can spend skill points every night to enhance a skill on one of your skill trees.

Once you’ve reached the right skill level to capture level 5 Spirits, find them near Moonstone. Have a free slot in your Medallion to have the Spirit join your party. When the level 5 Spirit is in your party, return to Zed to submit your research. Within a day or two in-game, a letter with the Spirit Barn recipe in Moonstone Island will be mailed to you.
How To Build a Spirit Barn
Before building a Spirit Barn, you need access to a Furnace and Moonstone Enchanter. You must complete the Furnace for a Freind quest for Ferra to get a Furnace blueprint. Ferra is a blacksmith that can be found at the smithy. The mission requires you to gather ten copper ore and trade them with Ferra. Copper is found in mines and caves.
You can craft a Moonstone Enchanter with the following ingredients in Moonstone Island:
- Moonstone Ingot x1
- Copper Ingot x3
- Iron Ingot x3
Moonstone Ingot is made with three Moonstones and one Coal. With the Moonstone Enchanter, interact with it to build the Spirit Barn.
- Moonstone Ingot x1
- Iron Ingots x3
- Wood x100
- Stone x100
Once you’ve created your Spirit Barn, you can place it anywhere you want. You can’t move it again once it’s in place, and destroying it will permanently get rid of it.
