Super Mario RPG Remake returns after its initial release on May 13, 1996. Being the first step for Mario in the realm of RPGs, this game went on to inspire two amazing series, Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi. This new remake is going to give the original Super Mario RPG a brand-new coat of paint with updated graphics and more. Fans of the newer Mario RPG series may want to check out this upcoming RPG to see its origins when it releases on November 17th, 2023.

Coming early in 2023, we have the new Persona 3 remake, Persona 3 Reload. Although the Persona series has always been popular, the newest mainline entry, Persona 5, has caused the series to reach new heights. Now, for players that have missed earlier entries of the series, Persona 3 is being reimagined for the modern era. Fans can check out this dating sim/RPG balancing act on February 2nd, 2024.

The Disgaea series is returning with the upcoming RPG Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless. The Disgaea series is well known for complex and tactical gameplay and absurdly high damage and health stats. Since its beginnings in 2003, the series has made six mainline entries and tons of spin-offs. For players who like the series or are curious, Disgaea 7 will be released on October 3rd, 2023, as the latest entry to date.

The massive JRPG series Dragon Quest is set to return with its newest entry, Dragon Quest 12. So far, little has been shared about the game; however, it should be similar to previous titles. Despite this, it has been stated that the usual turn-based battle system will be changed. Announced in 2021, this upcoming RPG has had a strained development. Hopefully, it will be released sometime soon in 2024.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, the sequel to the cult classic RPG Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, is coming in 2024. Although the original entry was overlooked on release, the vampire-infused RPG elements and writing have led players to call this game a modern masterpiece. Now, players will be able to roam the streets of Seattle as a vampire, exploring and discovering the world of Vampire: The Masquerade. Fans of the original TTRPG or first entry should keep an eye out for this upcoming RPG.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince
