Thor: Love and Thunder‘s Final Filming Days with Taika Waititi
The acclaimed creative director behind Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit, and other memorable entries has made quite a statement. When speaking to Australia’s Weekend Today with a report from the Daily Mail Australia Reporter, Taika Waititi shared his humble enthusiasm with Thor: Love and Thunder and its final weeks of shooting:
Great – we’ve got four weeks left, I can see light at the end of the tunnel. It might be the best Marvel film ever!”
The film has been in development for some time now, with initial principal photography commencing back in January 2020.
Taika Waititi then went on to share some personal admiration for his star and close friend, Chris Hemsworth. While still being interviewed by Weekend Today, Waititi commented on Hemsworth’s personality and humor:
He is a funny guy, he’s a good friend and he’s also someone that you just want to hang out with all the time. And that’s why I think that’s all you really want from a superhero or a main character in your movie.”
Back when the fourth Thor film was being written, Chris Hemsworth actually credited Waititi for reigniting his interest in Thor. After becoming underwhelmed and weary with the role, he questioned what could be accomplished differently. It wasn’t until the refreshing creative liberties between he and Waititi that changed Hemsworth’s mind to continue on being the God of Thunder on the silver screen.
