Kenneth Branagh returns in the newest movie based on Agatha Christie’s famous Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, A Haunting in Venice. Also directed by Branagh, the film is the third in his Poirot series of films, following 2022’s Death on the Nile. A Haunting in Venice follows Poirot in his retirement in Italy, where he does nothing but tend to his garden and order pastries. That is until Ariadne Oliver (Tina Fey) pays him a visit and invites him to a séance at a haunted Palazzo where a murder is committed. If you plan on watching it and want to know, let’s see if A Haunting in Venice has a post-credits scene.

Is There an End-Credits Scene in A Haunting in Venice?

If you had a little too much soda and are wondering if you can go to the bathroom once the mystery is solved and the credits begin to roll, you can as there is nothing after the credits of A Haunting in Venice. The movie ends with the credits playing over a scene of Poirot talking to another man, but their conversation is inaudible and not relevant to the story. With that being said you can stay seated and watch the credits to see the names of the people who worked on a great horror mystery film.

It’s not as if A Haunting in Venice needed a post-credits scene. The movie ends on a fairly open note, but it resolves all the plotlines introduced in the film. Although nobody could argue that these movies couldn’t use a good old-fashioned blooper reel over the credits. Seeing actors break character at Branagh’s accent would be hilarious. Ultimately, there hasn’t been an announcement for another entry in the series yet, so not teasing one in a post-credits scene makes sense. However, that doesn’t mean that there won’t be another Branagh Poirot movie.

The door to another Branagh-led Poirot movie doesn’t seem to be closed. One of the film’s producers James Prichard talked to Total Film last month and said “If Ken wants to do more, and Michael wants to write more, we’ll certainly do another.” Michael Green is the screenwriter of all three films, and of course, the “Ken” he is referring to is Kenneth Branagh. With the open ending of A Haunting of Venice and the box-office success of the first film compared to the relatively low budget, the possibility of another entry seems likely. A Haunting in Venice is in theaters from September 15, 2023.
