Sons of the Forest received a long-awaited patch that brought a lot of new content to the game. Now, you can upgrade your weapon even more conveniently, and the cannibals will call for help as soon as they notice you. But all this cannot be compared with the new item, the Mining Pickaxe. Before you were only able to fight with an axe and it was useless for ore mining. Therefore, you need to find a new tool to obtain new resources as fast as possible. However, to get a Mining Pickaxe in Sons of the Forest, you have to venture into the depths of the island.
Mining Pickaxe Location
The caves are one of the most frightening places in Sons of the Forest. But they are the only place you can find unique items. And the Mining Pickaxe was no exception, but before you go after it, you need to do some preparation.
If you have just started the game, you need to progress to get a light source and weapons. Fortunately, the cave you need is fairly empty of enemies. But a big part of your path runs through the water, so you will need a Rebreather to breathe while diving. You can find it in a cave in the north of the island. Once you found all the items, you can start searching for Mining Pickaxe in Sons of the Forest.
The new tool is in the new cave. Its entrance can be found in the eastern part of the island, near a small lake. If you have already completed the game, you will easily find a new cave. Then go down into it and follow these simple steps to find Pickaxe in Sons of the Forest:
- Go down following the flow of water until you reach the flooded part of the cave.
- Then, swim underwater. Once you reach the new part of the cave, you must go forward and turn right. (on the left there will be a passage with smooth rectangular stones, you don’t need to go there)
- After a few steps, you will find a slide that will lead you to another flooded corridor. Swim down until you can swim out again.
- Climb onto the rock next to the broken wooden fence and jump down into the next flooded tunnel. It will lead you to a cave with hanged workers.
- Walk forward a little, and you will find Pickaxe in the Solafite vein.
With a Pickaxe in the hands, players can finally mine Solafite Ore in Sons of the Forest. However, it is not known exactly how it can be used. Most likely, the developers will add new crafting recipes for this ore in future patches.
