Best Crew Command Ship

Dragon Fire

  • Where to Buy: The Eleos Retreat
  • Price: 308,425 credits

If you prioritize crew management, the Dragon Fire is your go-to ship. With seven crew slots, it boasts excellent cargo capacity, a C-Class rating, and decent weaponry. On the inside, it looks pretty clean, with a captivating bridge. Honestly, it’s a joy to command.

Best Smuggling Ship to Buy in Starfield

Crimson Fleet Ship

  • Where to Buy: The Key
  • Price: 317,700 credits

When stealth and subterfuge are your strategies, the Crimson Fleet Wight excels. It’s got seven crew slots and packs a mean shield capacity. Still, that shield doesn’t make it entirely defensive since it’s got pretty solid offensive capabilities.

Best Cargo Hauler Starfield Ship to Buy

Silent Runner

  • Where to Buy: Hopetown
  • Price: 390,150 credits

For those who live by the motto “more cargo, more profit,” the Silent Runner is a unique gem. Available at the Hopetown Headquarters, this C-Class ship boasts an unparalleled cargo capacity exceeding 6000 units. With a decent jump range, it’s a hauler’s dream. Its interior layout is functional, though the cockpit may leave something to be desired.

Best Starfield Ship to Buy For Offensive Players

  • Where to Buy: Deimos Staryard
  • Price: 207,150 credits

Want to turn your enemies into tiny, little pieces floating across the galaxy? Well, that’s what will become of them when you board the Aegis, a unique B-class ship with a powerful range of weapons. It’s got a solid crew size, spacious cargo, and pretty balanced attributes for an offensive ship, which is always welcome. Plus, it’s not expensive for how much value you’re getting from it.

Best Starfield Ship to Buy For Defensive Players

  • Where to Buy: Akila City
  • Price: 400,125 credits

If you want more of a tanky ship instead of dealing damage, then the Stronghold is for you. This is the king of tanky ships, as it has a substantial hull and shield capacity. Admittedly, its offensive capabilities are somewhat lacking. It’s ideal for space quests in higher-level galaxies.

Best Starfield Ship to Buy for Balanced Players

Shield Breaker

  • Where to Buy: any central city
  • Price: 265, 443

Moving up the ranks, the Shield Breaker strikes the perfect balance between offense and defense in the B-class category. With over 2000 cargo capacity and three pulse turrets that fire automatically in combat, it’s a versatile and formidable choice. The Shield Breaker is a fan favorite since you can upgrade its frame. Even in its original form, it has some well-thought-out interior design.

Best Starfield Ship to Avoid Combat

I, for one, hate space combat. There, I said it. That’s why the Razorleaf is my favorite ship in the game. The Razorleaf is your go-to combat starship, thanks to its lightning speed, exceptional maneuverability, and upgradable weaponry. It has a unique ability that sends potential foes running in fear at the mere sight of it. After they’ve run away, this ship is so blazing fast that you can quickly chase down anyone foolhardy enough to cross your path. Battles are now a breeze thanks to this ship.

Unfortunately, you can’t buy the Razorleaf in any vendor outpost. Instead, the quest The Old Neighborhood, the Mantis side quest, must be finished.

Best A-Class Starfield Ships to Buy

  • Where to Buy: New Atlantis
  • Price: 132,850

Admittedly, the A-class ships are the weakest in the game but are a starting point for man, but the Galileo is the cheapest ship you’ll find on the list. It’s the ideal first jump from the Frontier. Galileo boasts a sturdy skeletal frame that’s easy to upgrade and a crew size of four. Its decent jump range and impressive weaponry make it a respectable choice, though its cargo capacity could use some boosting.

Honorable mentions for Best Starfield Ships to Buy

Abyss Trekker Ship

  • Abyss Trekker: This quirky ship offers a unique layout with seven habitation modules. Here’s the issue: it lacks mobility. However, it makes up for it in weaponry and interior design. The Abyss Trekker is a fun choice for adventurous pilots.
  • Narwhal: A visually striking ship with solid attributes and a touch of elegance. What sets it apart from other options is its plenty of room for customization. If you’re into ship design, the Narwhal is for you.

Starfield is available on PC and Xbox.
