You’ve spent minutes, hours, days in the Cyberpunk 2077 character creation. V is as perfect as ever. Right? Maybe after all that time, you’ve grown to hate your own creation. Maybe the hair is wrong. Or perhaps you want to roleplay a V who changes throughout the story. In any case, you can change your appearance in Cyberpunk 2077. We’ll walk you through how to do that and the limitations that come with the feature.

Sometimes characters don’t come out the way we envisioned in the character creator. The lighting is different, or V doesn’t blend well when held next to the NPCs. Or maybe you want a fresh start to kick off the 2.0 patch. If you don’t like how V looks, have patience. You can easily change V’s appearance in Cyberpunk 2077.

The easiest way to adapt your character’s appearance is with your mirror. And V just so happens to have one sitting right in their apartment. When you can, you can head right to the bathroom and interact with the mirror. You have the option to change the expression on your face and change your appearance entirely.

Another way to change appearance and revisit the character creation in Cyberpunk 2077 is with a ripperdoc. Besides upgrading your cyberdeck, a ripperdoc also has the same option to play around with your V design. It’s a great solution if you’re nowhere near any apartment you own but are itching to switch up your appearance.

Limitations To Changing Your Appearance in Cyberpunk 2077

There’s plenty you can change about V to the point that you can almost make a new character at any point in the game. Once you’re at a mirror or a ripperdoc, you’ll launch into a slightly watered-down version of the original character creation screen.

You can adapt skin color, eye color, cyberware, tattoos, scars, piercings, and more. However, there are two main limitations to changing your appearance:

  • You cannot change body types
  •  You cannot change your voice

V can physically appear different, but they will remain with the masculine or feminine body or voice you initially chose. Apologies for those who thought about switching it up to romance that special someone.

Also worth noting is that PS4 and Xbox One users may see even more limitations such as the inability to change tattoos. This is because CD Projekt Red ended support for those consoles, so they won’t get any extras from the recent update.

Switch Up Your Clothing Appearance in Cyberpunk 2077

When you change your appearance in Cyberpunk 2077, it’s not all about physical qualities of V. Clothes are just as important. A fun thing about the game is that different areas have different styles of clothing. It’s worth it to visit different store and shop around a bit. If you don’t know where any are, look for the coat icons on your map.

Clothing isn’t just for looks though. Most of them offer various levels of protection, which means you’ll focus on practicality as much as you would style. Remember that you can craft clothing too to give V something more unique to run around in.
