CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will have an accompanying podcast called “The Late Show Pod Show With Stephen Colbert.” The popular CBS late-night program will launch the podcast on Monday for its showcase. Colbert’s podcast will be hosted on Spotify’s Megaphone. The podcast will be made available to advertisers through the Spotify Audience Network. Colbert’s show has been the top late-night program for the past four seasons. He has hosted the show since 2015.
Many other series have podcasts to go with them. The Daily Show has numerous, including The Daily Show with Trevor Noah: Ears Edition and Roy Wood Jr’s Beyond The Scenes. Samantha Bee has her podcast that goes with her series Full Frontal. Seth Meyers’ show has Late Night Lit.
From Colbert Report to Late Show Host
Stephen Colbert has worked on several shows such as The Dana Carvey Show, Strangers with Candy, and even The Daily Show. He was one of the original four correspondents when The Daily Show started. Colbert regularly appeared in segments when Jon Stewart was the host. He won three Emmy Awards as a writer of The Daily Show in 2004, 2005, and 2006. Eventually, Colbert snagged himself his own show, The Colbert Report on Comedy Central.
He hosted The Colbert Report from 2005 to 2014. He was nominated for many awards during his tenure on the series. Audiences loved his snappy humor and unorthodox ways of reporting current events. CBS gave Colbert a deal he didn’t refuse, which got him The Late Show with Stephen Colbert gig. He succeeded the longstanding host David Letterman. Since he started on the late show, he has made it his own. His hosting skills have won him a Peabody Award and Primetime Emmy Award. Colbert’s new frontier will be podcasts with “The Late Show Pod Show With Stephen Colbert.” Considering Stephen Colbert’s humor that audiences can’t get enough of and his long, long career, this new endeavor will just add to his accomplishments.
