DC and Warner Bros. Entertainment are expanding The Flash brand with a new podcast starring TV star Max Greenfield. Called Escape The Midnight Circus, this new podcast centers on the Flash teaming up with one of his arch-enemies to escape a life-or-death game show. The Flash is powerless and trapped, forced to rely on his wits and teamwork.
What is The Flash Podcast with Max Greenfield About?
Escape The Midnight Circus stars Barry Allen as The Flash, voiced by Max Greenfield. After getting dumped by his girlfriend, Iris West, Allen attempts to use his powers to go back in time to make things right.
However, he instead ends up in an alternate dimension. Trapped in a small bedroom with Captain Cold, one of his most notable adversaries, Barry realizes he’s a participant in a televised tournament called The Midnight Circus. The circus pits humans, heroes, and supervillains against each other in life-or-death games.
Barry doesn’t have his super speed in this alternate dimension and relies on working with Captain Cold to survive The Midnight Circus. To survive the competition, Barry needs to win, which includes facing his toughest opponent — Iris West.
The Flash: Escape The Midnight Circus will begin airing on July 10 on Apple Podcasts. The series will last six episodes, each episode lasting between 12 to 20 minutes. Other than Greenfield, DC has not announced any other cast member for the podcast.
Max Greenfield is an American actor who played Schmidt on New Girl. He also had prominent roles in other major TV works, including Veronica Mars, Ugly Betty, and The Neighborhood. The actor also, fortunately, doesn’t have the same baggage and controversy as Ezra Miller.
