Captain Marvel’s New Look
When Captain Marvel #1 debuts in October, Carol Danvers is going to look a little different. This year’s Hellfire Gala will see a sleeker-looking Carol Danvers thanks to superstar artist Jen Bartel. This new look is such a hit, that Marvel decided to carry it over to Captain Marvel’s new series. However, Bartel is pushing it further with a sleeker and more modern-looking Danvers.
While Captain Marvel is keeping her iconic red, blue, and yellow color pattern, her suit will get some cosmetic upgrades. Based on the cover of the October issue, it looks like Danvers has ditched the one-piece and is now rocking a jacket and pants combo. Meanwhile, the hero’s signature blonde hair is now done up in a sleek braid. She feels more like a Captain Marvel for the modern world.
New Adventures
Alongside the new look, Alyssa Wong and Jan Bazaldua are taking Captain Marvel on new adventures. Of course, this also means there will be some new enemies to deal with along the way. Specifically, the series sees a new omniversal entity willing to eliminate the only thing strong enough to stop it: Captain Marvel. Danvers finds herself trapped by this entity with a new, young ally as the only means of victory.
Speaking to Marvel, Alyssa Wong shared how excited she is to be writing Captain Marvel:
“Carol is such an iconic character with a rich history, and I can’t wait to add to her story. It’s an honor to work with Jan and I hope everyone enjoys what we’ve got coming.”
Captain Marvel #1 is coming your way on October 25.
