The previews for Hickman and Schiti’s ‘G.O.D.S.’ set up a meeting between the two organizations. These two organizations represent the crossroads of science and magic the series focuses on. One group is known as “The-Powers-That-Be” while the other is “The-Natural-Order-Of-Things”. Alongside these groups are familiar faces like Doctor Strange, his wife Clea, Mister Fantastic, and even Doctor Doom. Together, these individuals discuss something known as a Babylon Event. This rare occurrence can potentially disrupt the balance between the entities known as Eternity, Infinity, and the Living Tribunal.
According to Hickman and Schiti, this journey is not easily explained. Too many new players are on the board to truly get a hold of what is awaiting in the series. However, the first issue is around 55 pages long and should briefly introduce the new concepts and characters that will shape the Marvel Universe.
Characters and Covers
For months now, Marvel has been ramping up what Hickman and Schiti have waiting in ‘G.O.D.S..’ While we don’t know much about what to expect, we know several of the new characters. So, for the debut issue, artist Mateus Manhanini put newbie Wyn front and center.
‘G.O.D.S.’ Wyn recently spent time with Doctor Strange in a first-look trailer in March. His interactions with Doctor Strange set up a conversation about the concepts of magic and science in the Marvel Universe. Especially how they interact and intersect with one another. Plus, other members of this new series will feature on several variant covers this August. They include Aiko Maki, Dmitri the Science Boy, Mia the Magic Girl, Cubisk, and Core.
It looks like as Hickman and Schiti’s ‘G.O.D.S.’ inches closer, Marvel is ready to share more and more about what to expect.
