During the season premiere, Amanda shared how she lost her husband of eight years, Jason Wilhelm, to ampullary cancer barely two weeks after he was diagnosed. At 45 years old, Amanda’s husband tragically passed away. He left behind two young children: Aleena, 6, and Jason Wilhelm Jr., 3.
Nonetheless, what has enraged fans is how quickly she got into a relationship with her Romanian love Razvan Ciocoi following the death of her husband. Fans also criticized Amanda for leaving her young children behind and jetting off to Romania for three weeks to meet Razvan. Amanda’s sister, Amber, was also reasonably critical about the whole thing and expressed concerns over the timing of the relationship.
However, recent happenings on the show are already pointing to some trouble in her relationship with Razvan. Amanda’s behavior after landing in Romania has showcased some doubts about the 90 Day Fiancé stars’ decision-making.
1) Amanda Became Icy After Landing
Amanda and Razvan had only been dating for four months at the time of filming. This means the two began their romance only a few months after the death of her husband. Still, their lack of chemistry was glaring for everyone to see when the mother of two finally arrived in Romania to meet Razvan for the first time. After sharing a rather rushed first kiss, every other scene that featured the duo seemed uncomfortable.
Amanda became increasingly cold toward Razvan after her arrival, pulling away when Razvan attempted to kiss her again. Some fans even went as far as to label Amanda rude and entitled over how she treated Razvan. They also cited how she lashed out at Razvan for not making room for her things in his bathroom.
Amanda also clarified that they won’t get intimate on the first night. She later became emotional while speaking to the cameras about how much she missed her kids. Nonetheless, it was obvious to most viewers that she was beginning to feel guilt over the relationship, which would hurt their chances of remaining together.
2) Amanda Seemed Irritated Kissing Razvan
Amanda’s retreat into her shell after kissing Razvan clearly indicates her discomfort in their relationship. Once the two met at the airport, Razvan expectedly pulled her close for a kiss, but Amanda pulled away crudely. As they left the airport, Amanda told the social media star not to put his tongue in her mouth. Later, during a confessional, the Louisiana native explained what was going through her head while sharing the awkward kiss with Razvan. She said:
“I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long, but I’m realizing it’s gonna take me a little bit to feel more comfortable to be with him.”
She continued,
“Like, I have that physical connection with him. I just hope Razvan is patient with me and understands that I need to take things slowly.”

Most users commenting on the thread noted that Amanda appeared uncomfortable with Razvan being too close to her. It almost felt like the reality of her decisions was catching up with her. Considering her backstory, no one anticipated Amanda to be affectionate with Razvan during their first night together. 90 Day Fiancé fans hoped that after traveling miles to meet Razvan, Amanda would want to get to know him better. On the contrary, Amanda’s behavior showed she wasn’t ready to take the next step in the relationship.
Apart from their awkward kiss, Amanda was generally cold toward Razvan and didn’t attempt to reciprocate his kind gestures towards her. Her nonchalant reaction to how Razvan decorated their shared bed with rose petals spoke volumes about her state of mind.
