Shanice Henderson’s antics have made her the standout of Bravo’s new spin-off series, Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard. The series sees 12 mostly single friends reunite for an epic summer vacation at Martha’s Vineyard. While most of the cast all have unique qualities that they bring to the show, Shanice Henderson stands out due to her ability to be entertaining and controversial at the same time.
Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, the 31-year-old previously worked as a Playboy Club Bunny. However, she now works as an assistant at Lifesource Irrigation Inc. During her time at Playboy, she met her Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard castmates Jasmine Ellis Cooper, Bria Fleming, and Jordan Emmanuel. Jasmine describes the experience as one that made them “forever bonded.”
Although Shanice is described as a “quintessential party girl,” she hopes to meet her future husband on Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard. It should be noted that she is still trying to heal after the devastating demise of her last relationship. All of this has made Shanice an attraction on the show. Still, while her gung-ho approach has been quite entertaining, it has also earned her some backlash from fans.
Shanice’s Antics Bring Drama and Entertainment to Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard
Although Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard is based on the idea of a group of friends enjoying a well-earned vacation, some castmates, like Shanice, still have to go to work during the week. While Shanice always returns to the group on the weekends, fans have lamented the consistent drop in energy when she is away at work.
Most of the show’s viewers see Shanice as the live wire of the show. This is thanks to all the drama she always seems to drag along whenever she is back amongst the group. Alongside Bria, the two are a perfect blend for mischief. It was easily noticeable how the whole group came alive once the duo entered the house.
However, for most fans, Shanice is miles ahead of other cast members when sparking drama and some controversy. And one remarkable quality she possesses is her ability to move on quickly after stirring up said trouble. Rather than drag things along in a bid to force a storyline, Shanice just moves on to another controversy.
In addition to being described as a party girl, many fans feel she is the perfect reality TV star. However, Shanice’s free-spirited attitude does get her into a fair amount of trouble. Her shenanigans undoubtedly make for great entertainment on TV. However, in the natural scheme of things, some of her antics are a bit too messy.
Shanice Often Cross Boundaries
During episode 6 of Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard, Shanice took her antics a little too far when she got into the hot tub completely naked with other men in the house. Coincidentally, Bria’s boyfriend Simon was also in the tub, and that made things get very awkward quickly. He was so shell-shocked he could barely even move.
Shanice defended her actions as innocent fun, but Bria didn’t accept her explanation. Bria felt Shanice had overstepped by getting naked in front of Simon, who she was preparing to marry. Bria said she didn’t expect a porn star to behave that way, knowing what was at stake. Shanice received a fair amount of bashing from Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard viewers for her behavior.
Regardless, the next day she boldly went topless to the rooftop with a bottle of alcohol, undeterred by the previous incident. Shanice’s antics stunned everyone, and once again put her in the firing lines of enraged fans. Some Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard fans claimed she was desperate for attention from the men in the house. This brings to mind how Shanice’s relationship with her ex-boyfriend Norman Towns ended in a huge mess. In 2021, the actor, known for his role in Insecure, caused significant headlines.
He accused Shanice of stalking him for six months after he broke up with her. The two had gone separate ways after Norman stumbled upon Shanice’s chats wherein she bragged about sleeping with other men during their relationship. Although Shanice denied the stalking allegations, it has continued to stick. It even forced her fellow castmate Alex Tyree to back off pursuing a romance with her. While fans wouldn’t want her to stop being herself, it would be beneficial for them and her if she could tone down some of her excesses.
