Love Island fans have heavily criticized the weird decision of season 10 star Mitchel Taylor. Love Island season 10 is barely into its second week, but the show is already shaping up to be one that will not be easily forgotten. So far, the show has produced several talking points due to the relationship dynamics in the villa. With multiple bombshells already arriving into the mix, emotions are bound to run high. Each contestant has to try to establish real connections while fighting for survival on the show.
Mitchel is one of the cast members currently making waves on the show. The 26-year-old gas engineer hails from Sheffield and was one of the ten original cast members that started the show on June 5. Mitchel immediately caught the eye of fans right from the beginning, albeit for a rather unusual reason. Once fans were introduced to Mitchel, they immediately noted how he closely resembled Love Island alum Luca Bish.
The former Islander appeared on the summer edition of the show last year, where he managed to make it to the finals alongside his partner Gemma Owen. Meanwhile, Mitchel has also been making the headlines for unsavory reasons. After coupling up with Molly Marsh, the two appeared fully committed to each other. However, that changed when Mitched found himself in a love triangle involving Molly and bombshell Zachariah Noble. Nonetheless, how he has remained mindlessly loyal to Molly has raised concerns within the fanbase.
Love Island Mitchel Saved Molly Despite Kiss
After entering the villa, Zach made a bold move by snatching Catherine Agbaje from Andre Furtado. Although he initially had eyes for only Catherine, it didn’t take long before he started making moves on Molly — who was at the time coupled up with Mitchel. Despite being coupled with Mitchel, Molly seemed open to exploring a connection with Zach and welcomed his advances. After seriously flirting with each other for days, Zach ruffled some feathers when he gave Molly a bouquet and kissed her during a challenge on Sunday’s episode of Love Island.
This wasn’t the first time Zach and Molly would share a kiss, but it seemed this was one too many for Mitchel as he decided to end things with Molly after accusing her of not reciprocating his feelings. However, during the recent explosive recoupling, Mitchel completely fumbled when he had to pick between Ruchee, Molly, and Ella. He left fans fuming after he chose to recouple with Molly even though he had previously broken up with her. Mitchel added that he would like to explore their shared connection, but many fans quickly reminded him there was no semblance of chemistry between him and Molly.
Mitchel Still Holds Out Hope For Molly
One thing that has disappointed Love Island fans is Mitchel’s naive loyalty to Molly. Despite making it clear she had no interest in him or their relationship, Mitchel has refused to listen. While some might applaud his determination, this is a lose-lose deal for Mitchel. Molly snuck off to enjoy a kissing session with Zach before the recoupling. Surprisingly, she gleefully came to tell Mitchel all about it. Although visibly upset, he still managed to force a smile to show his happiness for Molly. Most Love Island fans hoped this would finally help him to read the handwriting on the wall. Surprisingly, Mitchel proved them wrong with his actions during the recoupling episode.
After saving Molly, Mitchel knew most of the Islanders felt he made a mistake. However, instead of owning up during a conversation with the boys in the kitchen, Mitchel claimed he had chosen Molly as a personal favor for his “boy” Zach. Whatever Mitchel was driving at, the boys weren’t buying it. Sammy revealed that Mitchel’s weird admission confirmed his suspicion that he had a secret plan to get to know Molly. Mitchel certainly didn’t disappoint.
Fans soon watched him pull Molly aside and subsequently told her he was still interested in pursuing a connection with her. Mitchel’s confession confused the actress. Later, in the beach hut, she confirmed that nothing was left to explore with Mitchel. According to her, the boat had sailed in that regard. However, Love Island fans are doubtful that will be enough to get “delusional” Mitchel off her case for good.
