The release of a new Marvel project comes with certain expectations. Expectations that have been built up over a decade of MCU entries. When you finally get to the end of a movie or a television show, there is an expectation that you will be in for an extra scene after the credits roll. Oftentimes, this scene is a comedic stinger or a tease for things to come. But, our expectations are much more muddled when the Disney Plus shows are concerned. So, as the latest entry in the MCU, Secret Invasion, has aired its finale, does it have a post-credits scene?
Does Secret Invasion Have a Post-Credits Scene?
If you were waiting six episodes for a post-credits scene to set up the next year of the MCU, you will be disappointed. Not only does Secret Invasion’s finale not have a post-credits scene, but none of the episodes do. This isn’t too surprising, as the series seemed committed to having a more serious tone. However, Captain America: The Winter Soldier also had that tone, and it not only had one post-credits scene, but it had two. It’s disappointing that the show didn’t have a post-credits scene. Not only because it broke tradition but because the finale didn’t finish many of the storylines. From here, we will be going into the story briefly, so there’ll be spoilers.Â
The President was acting weird at the end of the series, seemingly implying that he either might be a Skrull himself or that he might be up to something. Sonya Falsworth (Olivia Colman) and G’iah (Emilia Clarke) are now working together, with no word on if or when the pair will appear in the MCU again. Both Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and Rhodey Rhodes (Don Cheadle) have been freed from their imprisonment after both of the Skrulls who were impersonating them were killed. But we have no idea just how long either of them had been Skrulls for. Was Ross a Skrull in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever? Was Rhodey a Skrull in Avengers: Endgame, or was he a Skrull earlier in Captain America: Civil War?
In fact, Marvel left so many open threads in the Secret Invasion finale that there might not have been a need for a post-credits scene anyway. You can catch up on all six episodes of Secret Invasion on Disney Plus now.Â
