Emmy Rossum’s second child was welcomed on board on Wednesday morning with her husband, Sam Esmail. The actress who shares a daughter revealed the news almost immediately after delivery.
Before her second child, Emmy Rossum and Sam Esmail became first-time parents after the birth of their first daughter. To this day, the couple is yet to reveal her name or face. In fact, throughout her first pregnancy, the actress was tight-lipped about it.
It was not until the Golden Globe nominee became a mom that the actress alerted her fans online. She uploaded a throwback image of her maternity shoot. Emmy Rossum went on to describe the date and time her mini-me was born.
Four months after becoming a mom, Rossum opened up about her birthing experience. The actress celebrated the Labor Day holiday by saying she had early labor. She went on to share a montage of throwback snaps.
In one of her selfies, Rossum wrote:
“In honor of labor day, a pic of all the vessels in my face I broke pushing in labor.”
Even though the “Shameless” star avoids putting out sensitive details about her family, she still loves to post. Rossum often uploads images of her first child but keeps her face off the camera.

Emmy Rossum and Sam Esmail Welcome Second Child
On Wednesday, the “Angelyne” star flaunted her slice of heaven on Instagram. Shortly after coming out of the delivery room, she shared snaps of her newborn son. The first photo that greeted fans was his tiny footprints on paper. The baby, who weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces, arrived at exactly 10:44 am.
The second slide show was a heavily pregnant Emmy Rossum flaunting her bare baby bump in the mirror before birthing her second child. Next to the mirror selfie was a part of the newborn’s face. Rossum showed how he snuggled on her neck.
Her accompanying caption read:
“04.05.23. On a foggy Wednesday morning, our son was born.”
Despite revealing a rare glimpse of her second child, Emmy Rossum refrained from sharing more details. Though the MTV Movie Award nominee confirmed it was a son, the name remains unknown.
