Netflix has released a teaser trailer for their Romantic Killer anime adaptation. The Netflix Japan Anime Twitter also revealed that Rie Takahashi (Megumin in KONOSUBA) and Mikako Komatsu (Maki Zen’in in Jujutsu Kaisen) are playing the main roles of Anzu Hoshino and Riri the wizard, respectively. YURIKA (Little Witch Academi, BEASTARS) is performing the main theme song, “Roma☆Kira.”

At the same time as the announcement, a commemoration illustration was uploaded by the manga’s author Momose on Twitter. Comic Natalie also reported that the staff includes domerica as the animation production company.
“Romantic Killer” Anime: The Short Story
The story of Romantic Killer is described as follows;
High schooler Anzu Hoshino has a great life. Every day she plays video games, pigs out on snacks, and pets her beloved cat. But this blissful existence is turned into a confusing mess when a magical transport her to an altered reality bereft of her favorite things. Now she’s stuck with hot guys instead! How can she possibly survive in such an awful world?! Can she fall in love like the wizard wants her to?
Romantic Killer is drawn by Wataru Momose and published under the Jump Comics label. It began in 2019 and has four digital volumes as of September 2020. The physical versions of the second to the fourth volume will be released on October 4th, 2022. Currently, the English version of the manga is licensed by Viz Media.
Since its release, the Romantic Killer manga won the second edition of Shueisha’s manga award “Jump Vertical Scroll Manga Award). The manga first started in 2019 and ran for a total of 4 volumes. The story is mostly digital work and can be found on Viz Media’s website. Despite that, a physical version can also be purchased.
The anime adaptation of the Romantic Killer manga is set to release on October 27th, available to stream on Netflix.
