In the second episode of The Book of Boba Fett, hardcore Star Wars fans were surprised to see a fan favorite from Marvel’s Star Wars comics. This comic character made their live-action debut at a pivotal moment within the episode.
While this episode of The Book of Boba Fett focused more on Boba Fett’s (Temuera Morrison) flashback that shows his time with the Tusken Raiders, we did get a hint of where this series is going. Spoiler alert for anyone who hasn’t seen episode 2:
During Boba’s interrogation of one of the assassins from last week’s episode, he uncovers that the mayor is the one who sent the kill team after him. However, we later find out that this wasn’t the case. Boba and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) are greeted by a pair of Hutts who are seeking to gain back the territory once held by Jabba. During this meeting, a threatening figure emerges who is in the Hutts’ employ. This figure is Black Krrsantan, a bounty hunter who was introduced in the Star Wars comics.
Black Krrsantan is a Wookie who was captured from his homeworld of Kashyyyk, enslaved, and trained to be a gladiator. He later became a bounty hunter who often worked for Jabba the Hutt. At one point in Marvel’s first Darth Vader comic book series, Krrsantan worked for Vader during the galactic civil war.
This character certainly doesn’t look as friendly as Chewbacca and could be a threat later in the series. We figured other bounty hunters would appear in this series as Boba Fett navigates the Star Wars criminal underworld, but this one was a surprise. Other popular Star Wars bounty hunter characters like Cad Bane, Bossk, or IG-88, could make appearances later. The Book of Boba Fett is still early in its first season, so who knows what could happen with regards to this character.
