Indiana Jones fans were hyped for the franchise’s upcoming game; it comes from Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda, the developer behind the Elder Scrolls series. But it seems like the plans have changed, and the studio will be releasing the game only on Xbox. As you already know, Bethesda is a part of Xbox Game Studios, and the studio’s first aim is to make Xbox-exclusive games and help the console with game sales. But the same thing wasn’t planned for the Indiana Jones game, and Bethesda would release the game on multi-platforms. Unfortunately, a new statement reveals that it won’t be a multi-platform release and will only be playable on Xbox.
The Indiana Jones Game Will Be Xbox Exclusive
The game was first announced in 2021, and we learned that MachineGames will develop it. It was not detailed as an Xbox exclusive so far, but today’s news confirms that the plans are changed, and now it will be playable on Xbox. That also means the game will also appear on PC, at least. The only heartbreak is for PlayStation users here since Xbox’s first-party releases are also released on modern Windows systems. Here’s the key part of the statement shared on Kotaku today:
“While it is not in our messaging, I think it’s important to highlight that Lucasfilm brought up to me the issue of platforms because we have a signed agreement with them to make the game for PC and multiple consoles…I do understand their concern and want to highlight that in their interviews. They may say something about multiple consoles”
The Indiana Jones franchise is definitely from the ones that made millions love action-adventure movies. We also saw a few games from the series, but they weren’t big as the one we will play on Xbox. The console wars seem endless, and it’s getting worse.
