Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen come together on the small screen for the Apple TV+ comedy series Platonic. They previously starred in the Neighbors films together as a married couple. This time they play a couple of former BFFs that try to become friends again. Rose Byrne plays Sylvia, and Seth Rogen plays Will in Platonic, and together the two become an explosive combination that starts spilling over into their other relationships; the Apple TV+ comedy series has a 10-episode order and will premiere on May 24. New episodes will drop every Wednesday until it concludes on July 12. Carla Gallo, who also starred in Neighbors, will star alongside the comedic duo. Luke Macfarlane, Tre Hale, and Andrew Lopez are also starring in the series. Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne are executive producers of the project. Neighbors director Nick Stoller and his screenwriter wife Francesca Delbanco co-created, co-wrote, and directed the series.
Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne are Two Pals This Time Around
Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen played a believable married couple in the Neighbors comedy films. The two actors already have a history with Nick Stoller, so reuniting them for this project was an easy choice. This time Byrne and Rogen are former friends trying to find their way back to each other in Platonic. The trailer alone shows a lot of property damage by the pair and people in their lives, discouraging the relationship. The Apple TV+ comedy series is Rose Byrne’s second collaboration with the streaming service after Physical. This is Rogen’s first series with this streaming service, though he is working on another untitled series with them. He is writing, directing, and going to be an executive producer for it. For this project, Byrne and Rogen are the troublemakers instead of trying to stop the troublemakers.
Platonic will premiere on May 24 on Apple TV+.
