Disney+ and Marvel’s Moon Knight have officially been Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes despite being review bombed. The series is the latest live-action show from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, premiering on March 30th, 2022. The show stars Oscar Isaac as Steven Grant, a shy British clerk who works at a museum gift shop. Over the span of the first episode, he discovers that he has dissociative identity disorder. This causes him to enter a power struggle with his primary personality, Marc Spector. All the while, Marc Spector channels the powers of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu and serves as the caped vigilante Moon Knight.
Since its debut and the first couple of streaming days, Rotten Tomatoes has officially announced that Moon Knight is Certified Fresh. The criteria to earn a Certified Fresh require a project to have a steady stream of reviews that keep it at 75% or higher. As of now, the series has received 107 reviews that place it at a score of 87%. This puts it higher than its Rotten Tomatoes score of 85%. The critics’ consensus on Moon Knight describes the show as,
It’s entertainment value may wax and wane a bit, but Moon Knight ultimately settles into a mostly enjoyable – refreshingly weird– spot in the MCU firmament.
Moon Knight Rotten Tomatoes: A Bumpy Start
Moon Knight has also increased its audience score with this new Certified Fresh status. As of now, it stands at 94% of its previous 93% from audiences. This is also a large feat from the show, given the fact that Moon Knight is currently being review bombed on IMDB. This is because the first episode acknowledges the Armenian genocide.
Despite this, the series is expected to finish with strong reviews and scores by the end of its run. As of now, Moon Knight stands among some of the best-reviewed shows of the year so far. This list ranges from titles like Euphoria to Abbot Elementary.
