Many of us saw this coming, unfortunately…after Wonder Woman 3 was canceled, many of us feared it might be the end of the road for her, and it seems it might be so. Gal Gadot‘s Wonder Woman might have seen her final days on screen in the DC Universe as the franchise is making some changes. The first time Diana Prince was on screen was in 2016’s Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, where she started her live-action journey for the first time ever. Since then, two Wonder Woman solo films have been released, but it seems Diana Prince won’t be getting a third.
Could Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman Come Back in DC’s Reboot?
DC Studios has now welcomed in new co-CEOS James Gunn and Peter Safran, who are setting out to have a clean slate for new DC movies. So far, it seems there might be an announcement in a few weeks regarding what heroes will be featured in the new take. So far, there isn’t much news on what DC will be doing, but hopefully, we will know soon. With that being said, it seems Warner Bros. is abandoning the female hero for the new slate…which is very sad to see.
As of right now, James Gunn and Peter Safran are expecting to reveal their “three-year interconnected vision” for their new universe in a couple of weeks. From what we know so far, it doesn’t seem that the new DCU will include Wonder Woman. As part of the change from the new management, the Wonder Woman 3 movie was taken off the production schedule before Gunn and Safran joined the franchise. However, with all of this knowledge, it still does remain unknown whether or not that means Wonder Woman will be done for good or just done for now. James Gunn and Peter Safran are set to reveal the new plans for the DC Universe sometime in January, so hopefully, that will give us some answers. Until later, Wonder Woman is available for streaming on HBO Max.
