Discord has recently notified its users of a data leak resulting from a compromised third-party support agent. The breach exposed user email addresses, messages exchanged with Discord support, and any attachments sent as part of support tickets. While Discord promptly addressed the incident by disabling the compromised account and implementing security measures, users are advised to remain vigilant for potentially fraudulent activities or phishing attempts. Here is what you need to know about hacking Discord support.
Discord:Â User Data May Have Leaked Due to Support Getting Hacked
Following the discovery of the compromised support agent account, Discord acted swiftly to mitigate the impact of the data leak. The affected accounts were immediately deactivated, and the company conducted malware checks on the compromised machine. Discord also collaborated with its customer service partner to implement stronger security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
“Due to the nature of the incident, it is possible that your email address, the contents of customer service messages, and any attachments sent between you and Discord may have been exposed to a third party,” Discord wrote in a letter. “As soon as Discord was aware of the issue, we deactivated the compromised account and completed malware checks on the affected machine.”
This could become a massive data breach, as 150 million people use Discord monthly. However, when BleepingComputer contacted Discord earlier today seeking comment, a spokesperson didn’t reply.
The messaging platform’s investigation revealed that the breached support ticket queue contained user email addresses, customer service messages, and any attachments between users and Discord support. Although Discord has stated that the risk associated with the breach is limited, affected users must remain cautious.

While Xbox owners can join voice channels directly from their console, Sony’s roundabout way is less than ideal. Sony’s 1440p mode also sees improvements with Variable Refresh Rate enabled for smoother visual performance, and more modes and HDMI devices are now supported as well.
