Sableye is classified as a Darkness Pokemon, with its most unique visual aspect about it being its crystal eyes and red gem on its chest. When it Mega Evolves, the red gem leaves Sableye’s body and becomes a giant crystal that towers over the Pokemon.
The red crystal acts like a shield for Mega Sableye, giving the Pokemon a massive boost in defense. The average base stat for Sableye’s defense in Pokemon Go becomes 216 once it Mega Evolves. Sableye’s Dark and Ghost-typing also gives it very few type weaknesses.
Mega Sableye has resistance towards Fighting, Normal, Psychic, and Poison moves. The strongest moves Mega Sableye can use are Foul Play, Shadow Claw, Power Gem, and Feint Attack.
Best Counters for Mega Sableye in Pokemon Go
When Sableye was first introduced, the Dark and Ghost type combination had no weakness. Sableye wouldn’t get a weakness until the Fairy typing was introduced in Pokemon X and Y. Sableye’s only weakness in Pokemon Go are Fairy-type attacks.
Mega Gardevior is the best Fairy in Pokemon Go; thus, it is the best Pokemon to use against Mega Sableye. Mega Gardevior has overall great stats in Go. She can learn amazing Charge Moves like Dazzling Gleam, which will be very effective against Sableye. However, Ghost-type moves are very effective against Gardevior because of their Psychic typing. That makes Gardevior vulnerable to Mega Sableye’s Ghost attacks.
Zacian and Togekiss are great alternate Fairy Pokemon to use against Mega Sableye that don’t have the weaknesses of Ghost. The best moves Togekiss should know are Charm and Dazzling Gleam, whereas the best moves Zacian should know are Play Rough and Snarl.
