Capcom has officially announced Monster Hunter Now, a new mobile game developed in partnership with, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon GO.
The real-world action RPG will be released for iOS and Android devices sometime in September 2023, and will have an closed beta test on April 25, 2023.

Monster Hunter Now will see players take on the most iconic and fearsome monsters from across the series in real-time AR battles right in their own backyard – and beyond!
While the game will have will many similarities to Pokemon GO, battles will play out in a manner more more reminiscent of the main series.
Lasting up to 75 seconds per encounter, the combat will emply many of the same action-RPG elements long-time veterans of the series know and love, making use of a variety of weapons and tools to counter and ultimately defeat the beast!
Up to four players will be able to journey together to encounter beasts such as Rathalos in the real-world and battle together for glory in either vertical or landscape modes.
Niantic has also teased a story mode where players will be able to meet a variety of both new and old faces in an epic journey, with more details expected in the near future.
This is not the first or second time Niantic has partnered with other companies to make Pokemon GO-like games, having done the same with such games as Pikmin and even a collaboration with the NBA.
Interested players interested can register now for the closed beta via the official website, to be held on April 25, 2023. It will be limited to about 10,000 potential participants.
