Dipplin is the new dragon, worm Pokemon introduced for the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, The Teal Mask. This new Pokemon is a little worm that lives in a caramel apple. Footage and artwork imply that Dipplin is two creatures living inside the apple, and it serves as a new evolution of Applin, the other two being Flapple and Appletun. Similar to the other Applin evolutions, Trainers have fallen in love with Dipplin. But how can you capture Dipplin in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Mask Teal?
How To Get Dipplin in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet the Teal Mask
You go to the wonderous land of Kitakami as part of a field trip for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, The Mask Teal. Kitakami is a Japanese-inspired location filled with different Pokemon from the Paldea region. You can see multiple Pokemon roam the Kitakami area, including Applin.
You can find Applin throughout the main Paldea region, as they aren’t exclusive to The Mask Teal DLC. With that said, Applin also roam Kitakami outside the main city, underneath the apple trees on top of Apple Hill, which is located west of the main town.
However, you won’t find Dipplin wandering around Kitakimi. The only way to get a Dipplin is to evolve it from an Applin.
How To Evolve Applin into Dipplin in The Mask Teal
Applin evolves when you hand it a special apple-themed item. It evolves into Flapple if you give it a Tart Apple but evolves into Appletun if you use a Sweet Apple. You must give Applin a Syrupy Apple to evolve it into a Dipplin in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Syrupy Apples can be purchased at the farm at Kitakami’s Mosfell Confluence in The Mask Teal DLC. The farm is found on the bottom right corner of the map, surrounded by rivers and small hills. It’s easy to get there with Koraidon or Miraidon.
Like all Applin evolutions, Dipplin is a Dragon and Grass-type Pokemon with an exclusive move called Syrup Bomb. This Grass-type special attack causes an explosion of syrup, which lowers the Speed stat of its target each turn for three turns.
Dipplin also has a new ability called the Supersweet Syrup, which draws out a sweet scent when summoned to the battlefield. The sweet scent lowers the evasiveness of the opposing Pokemon.
