Performing a Fatal Blow in Mortal Kombat 1 at the right time can be the difference between victory and defeat. This mechanism was first introduced in Mortal Kombat 9 as X-Ray Move and then changed names to Fatal Blow in Mortal Kombat 11. And as we have it in Mortal Kombat 1, you can perform it while your warrior is getting close to defeat. Here’s how!

You can hit your opponent with a Fatal Blow by pressing RT/R2 + LT/L2 in Mortal Kombat 1. It’s the same as what we had in Mortal Kombat 11. However, this time, your Kameo fighter will aid you in breaking the poor target’s bones. There’s also a new animation of your warrior getting ready for the attack while the Kameo always strikes first. However, when can you perform a Fatal Blow, and is it limitless?

To perform a Fatal Blow, you need to be under 30% of your health.  This will happen with a ringing sound and the notification under your character’s health bar that says “Fatal Blow” with the buttons needed to activate it.

Now, remember, you should use this attack very wisely during a match. You’ll only get 1 Fatal Blow each match in Mortal Kombat 1. Your opponent can block it by simply pressing RT/R2. However, if you get blocked when performing a Fatal Blow attack, you’ll be vulnerable to the enemy’s attacks for a second. You should also note that if you miss the Fatal Blow, you need to wait for more seconds to use it again.

Last thing to know about the Fatal Blow attacks in Mortal Kombat 1. The best moment to use this type of attack is when you know your enemy has under 400 HP. This will finish them after the attack is done, and you can enjoy watching them getting ripped apart by your warrior and the Kameo you’ve chosen.

However, note that getting blocked when using the Fatal Blow opens your guard. So the best thing to use it during your combos. For example, you have an X – X – Y combo, so you can press X – X and then add RT/LT to the mix to get a guaranteed Fatal Blow attack.
