Classic games will always have a special place in everyone’s hearts. And according to a rumor, Sony and Konami are looking for a collaboration that will bring back all the legacy titles everyone loved.Â
Sony and Konami collaboration
Recently, there have been leaks about the looming release of Silent Hill 2, which will also be a PlayStation exclusive. This is the first indication that there is a possible Sony and Konami collaboration. Silent Hill 2 is said to be released in 2024. And according to rumors, there are even more legacy titles to be released for fans.Â
A famous industry leaker, Idle Sloth, recently tweeted that a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake might be revealed in the upcoming PlayStation showcase. Jez Corden, the Editor for WindowsCentral, also stated that the (possible) Metal Gear Solid three will also be exclusive for the PlayStation.Â
To make matters better, Jez Corden further stated that Sony landed a deal with Konami for Silent Hill, Castlevania, and Metal Gear, which are all legacy titles. However, take this rumor with a grain of salt because there is still confirmation on the side of both companies.Â
Nevertheless, people are now speculating whether Sony and Konami still have surprises stored for everyone.
Konami has not released any titles from either Silent Hill, Castlevania, and Metal Gear for years—except for remasters—even though these titles are the ones that boosted them to popularity. But if this rumor turns out to be accurate, it may be one of the most significant collaborations of the past few years.Â
Nevertheless, the impending release of the Silent Hill 2 remake will probably shake the gaming industry next year.Â
