This year has been a top-notch year for gaming, and it will continue as we continue into the second half of the year. We have a few months before the biggest games come along, but July 2023 still holds release dates for some highly anticipated games for all platforms. No matter your taste in gaming, you should find something to catch your attention while you await the juggernauts like Starfield, Spider-Man 2, and Alan Wake 2. Prepare your wallets for a possibly big month of spending on the latest releases.

Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals
- Release Date: July 12

The story of Oxenfree continues with Lost Signals. This is one of the first releases from Netflix that has gained attention, unlike most games from the streamer. In this indie, you will explore the town to find answers to this mystery and talk to locals to gain information and form relationships. Each choice you make will alter the outcome of what is in front of you in this story, so choose your dialogue choices wisely.

Remnant 2
- Release Date: July 25
- Platform(s): PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S
Remnant: From the Ashes laid a foundation for a looter shooter with Soulslike mechanics, particularly when it comes to its challenging enemies and massive bosses. If you want a fun but difficult journey with your friends, then none of the games in July 2023 can compete with Remnant 2. It builds upon the original’s formula with bigger bosses, more detailed worlds, revamped progression systems, and enough quests and gear for hundreds of hours of replayability. Whether you play alone or invite up to two friends to join you, there will be plenty of things to do and obstacles to overcome.

For fans of the novels or the Amazon series, The Expanse will get the Telltale treatment toward the end of July. Make decisions and choose how you want your relationships to develop as you step into the shoes of Carmina Drummer, the Executive Officer on the scavenging ship, The Artemis. Anything you do and say will have great consequences that shape the story and can deliver surprising outcomes. This will be one to compare notes on with your friends as you will all likely have some differences in your choices.
