Whether you choose the best starting class or the most powerful origin characters, you will eventually have to revive them in Baldur’s Gate 3. With a game as big as this, some encounters and deadly monsters will get in your way. Inevitably, they will take down some of your party members. Thankfully, death is not the end in Baldur’s Gate 3, so reviving characters becomes as natural as taking a walk in the park. You can do this in many ways, so take some notes and prepare to explore, purchase items, and even discover dungeons. Here is how to bring back dead characters in Baldur’s Gate 3.

You will have three options to revive characters in Baldur’s Gate 3.

  • The Scroll of Revivify is a single-use scroll that you can find during the prologue or purchase from merchants. If you use the Scroll, your character will be revived with one hit point remaining.
  • You can also bring back your characters from the dead by talking to Withers, the Hooded Skeleton.
  • You can cast the Revivify level 3 spell.

The Scroll of Revivify is a single use scroll that you can find during the prologue or purchase from merchants. These are Roah Moonglow at Shattered Sanctum, Arron at The Hollow, and Cyurel at The Risen Hand.

You unlock Withers once you complete the Dunk Crypt dungeon. He will be available at your camp and will be at the shore. Talk to him and pay him 200 gold to revive any character who died during your Baldur’s Gate 3 adventures.

Clerics or Paladins can cast the revive spell at level 5. It acts similarly to the Scroll of Revivify, bringing back characters with one hit point. In both cases, be sure to heal your character as soon as you. Otherwise, reviving your characters in Baldur’s Gate 3 will become a frequent task for you.

Whether via your hand or Withers’, reviving your characters in Baldur’s Gate 3 provides a new opportunity to tackle the challenges and foes that took them down in the first place. Either way, keep continuing collecting gold and XP throughout your journey. You will need either or both to bring back your party from the dead.

Baldur’s Gate 3 will launch on PC on August 3, with a later PlayStation 5 release set on September 6.
