During today’s massive Summer Game Fest event, indie studios Fallen Leaf and Black Drakkar Games unveiled their debut game Fort Solis, set to bring aboard infamous voice actors Troy Baker and Roger Clark. Take a look at the first trailer for the game below!
Horrors Aboard An Unassuming Station
Fort Solis follows Jack Leary (Roger Clark), an engineer working on Mars who’s performing a check on a routine alarm at Fort Solis, a base located on the same planet. Unusually though, the base is entirely devoid of staff and things seem to have transpired here that is rather unusual. With only the voice of Taylor (Troy Baker), an officer who was stationed at the base, Jack must explore the facility, determine what this facility was designed for and what happened to its crew, and escape with not just the truth but his life as well. Will he be able to survive the insanity within?
While there was more than enough space horror to go around during today’s festival, Fort Solis finds itself leaning further into the mystery than most. The idea of an abandoned space station has obviously been trodden countless times now, but one that is devoid of people entirely beyond the markings of what transpired here is an interesting twist on the idea. This, along with Baker and Clark’s involvement in the project, should make for a more than an interesting title that certainly has me hooked. With no release date currently set though, it’ll likely be a while before we get the game in our hands.
Fort Solis only showcased a Steam release during the Summer Game Fest, though it’s likely the horror indie will come to other platforms at some point in the future. That’s purely speculation at this point though, and should be taken with a grain of salt. For now, be sure to wishlist it so you can keep up to date!
