More information on the development of Hollow Knight Silksong has been shared by Matthew Griffin, head of marketing and PR at Team Cherry. The news reveals that development on the game is still continuing, but that the team will not be able to release the game in the first half of 2023 as originally planned.
Another update is expected to be shared as we move closer to the release date at least later this year.
Hey gang, just a quick update about Silksong.

Hollow Knight Silksong Release Date: Everything We Know
The most recent hint for an official release window for Hollow Knight Silksong was shared during the Xbox Bethesda Showcase held on June 12, 2022. During the showcase, a new trailer for Silksong was shown off, featuring more gameplay footage.
The showcase and trailer also confirmed that Hollow Knight Silksong will be a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass.
Shortly after this, Xbox responded to a Tweet from a fan regarding the release date of Silksong, which seemed to confirm that the game would be released within the next 12 months from the time of the showcase. At the time, this seemed to be full confirmation that the game would release sometime in June 2023.
Now, however, it seems that is no longer the case. Team Cherry head of PR Matthew Griffin did confirm that the game was originally planned to be release within the first half of 2023, but that the team has unfortunately had to delay it yet again.
The game has apparently gotten quite big, and Team Cherry wants to ensure they deliver the best product possible.
Hollow Knight Silksong is a sequel to the 2017 Metroidvania indie hit Hollow Knight. It is expected to be release sometime later this year for Windows, macOS, Linux, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
