Meta has officially announced the Meta Quest 3 VR headset for launch this fall. The announcement was made on Mark Zuckerberg’s Instagram. The headset is scheduled to be released in the fall of this year. It will come in a 128GB version and $499.99 price tag. According to Meta, additional storage options will be available for those that want extra space. Meta Quest 3 also will feature higher resolution, more robust performance, and a slimmer headset. While we wait for the launch of Meta Quest 3, its prior VR headset, Meta Quest 2, is making strides and attracting major titles its way with reduced prices over time.
Meta Quest 3 Headset Price and Features
The Meta Quest 3 is undeniably Meta’s most powerful headset yet. It will feature the highest resolution display and pancake optics to enhance the visual experience. Moreover, it will be powered by Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon chipset. Players will experience smoother performance and incredibly crisp details in immersive games. The Snapdragon chipset in Quest 3 provides more than twice the graphical performance of the Snapdragon GPU from the previous generation.
With the upcoming headset, you can seamlessly merge the real and virtual worlds thanks to the industry-leading Meta Reality technology. Arguably, these new experiences go beyond today’s mixed reality. You can interact with virtual content and the natural world simultaneously thanks to high-fidelity color Passthrough. The incoming will have a 40% slimmer optic profile than Quest 2.
In Meta Quest 3, players will enter a fully immersive world to perform tasks that would otherwise be impossible with affordable pricing. How fantastic is playing a virtual board game on your kitchen table with Demeo? Or use Painting VR to decorate your living room with virtual artwork. Quest 3 is the first mass-market product to deliver cutting-edge VR and MR experiences at a lower price. You won’t want to miss Meta Connect on September 27, as we will have plenty more to share.
