So far, we’ve seen showcases of Nintendo and Xbox, so it was only time for Sony to release its own. While the company already put out a roadmap for this year’s upcoming games, we are finally getting a big showcase for one of the biggest titles of 2023. Sony will host its State of Play in April 2023, focusing only on gameplay footage from Final Fantasy 16. According to the announcement, the show will last 20 minutes. While the time is short, we hope to see many more things of this title.

Sony Will Host Its State of Play on April 13, 2023

If you didn’t know, Square Enix, or more specifically, Creative Business Unit III, showed a lot of things during PAX East. We saw a new trailer showing parts of the map, many combat features, and, most importantly, hands-on gameplay. Fans are excited about the game because these developers stand well in the gaming industry. After the miracle they did of reviving FFXIV, everyone’s hopes are high for this next mainline entry of the RPG series. Without counting the MMOs, the previous games have been lacking for some fans. Yoshi-P and his team will be the ones who’ll make people fall in love with Final Fantasy once more; we are sure of that.

State of Play presents more than 20 minutes of new Final Fantasy XVI gameplay this Thursday. Tune in live at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 11pm CEST: https://t.co/nOULcwLVnQ pic.twitter.com/vNR9kGbxL6

One thing that isn’t so great for many fans is that the game is coming out on PS5 only. This means many players will have to wait to get a console or hope for a PC port one day. It is uncertain if they’ll announce something like that during the State of Play of April 2023, but it is good to dream. You can watch Sony’s State of Play on Twitch or YouTube at 2 pm PT. Besides that, you’re still in time to pre-order the game and wait for its release date of June 22, 2023.
