Gran Turismo 7 is getting a huge update for gamers playing it on the PlayStation 5. Sorry to PS4 owners, they won’t be getting this framerate update sadly. In the newest update, PS5 owners will get to enjoy Gran Turismo 7 at a glorious 120 FPS, owing their monitors and TVs support the refresh rate.
Gran Turismo 7 At 120FPS
It was revealed with the newest 1.31 update that players owning a copy of Gran Turismo 7 on the PS5 will be able to enjoy the increased 120FPS framerate provided they own a display and equivalent cable capable of supporting 120Hz.
Sadly, this framerate update isn’t available for PS4 owners considering the previous-generation console cannot handle the graphical fidelity, resolution, and framerate.
That’s not all. The new update also adds a roster of new cars that are sure to spice your races up. Five cars have made their way into GT 7: Audi RS 5 Turbo DTM ’19; Porsche 959 ’87; Porsche Carrera GTS (904) ’64; Toyota Alphard Executive Lounge ’18; and Mazda Mazda3 X Burgundy Selection ’19.
Nurburgring has been given two new layouts, too, which include Sprint and Endurance. The latter joins the Gran Prix and Nordschleife courses, while the former is a shorter variant of the Grand Prix course, catered to slower road cars.
In addition, Cherry Blossoms have been listed in Scrapes in celebration of the Cherry Blossom Season. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. You can take a look at the full patch notes over at the PlayStation Blog. These details were revealed last week, but we were surprised with the new 120FPS mode for Gran Turismo 7 on the PS5 today.
So, are you going to enjoy Gran Turismo 7 running at 120FPS on your PS5, or are you still running a 60 FPS panel? Let us know in the comments below, and stay tuned for more updates on the NerdStash
