Slime Rancher 2, the sequel to the original (and adorable) slime collecting game, will be released on PC, and Xbox Series X|S in 2022. This was announced earlier today at Microsoft’s E3 event.
As many have noticed in the trailer, the game will take place on the new Rainbow Island. This same showcase trailer also shows Monomi Park‘s new and colorful world, equipped with new and just as colorful slimes. There are slimes with bunny ears, slimes that look like angler fish, and many other cute designs that will be sure to get the attention of new and old players alike.
What Did Slime Rancher 2’s Trailer Show?
The gameplay and story for the game are still the same. Beatrix LeBeau will reprise her role as the protagonist as she sails across the Slime Sea. Players will still have to suck up adorable slime creatures into their VacPacks and place them into designated pens. The main antagonist (a slimy goopy mess named The Tarr) will be the same as before as well. Not much else was shown in the trailer, as it was more focused on showing Park’s adorable designs and world.
Slime Rancher first saw a release in 2017. Here, the first-person adventure game managed to capture the hearts of players as they caught, fed, and bred slimes. Many fell in love with the colorful and cartoony art of the game, which led to more people falling in love with the designs of all the slime creatures.
As of now, there is no definite release date for Slime Rancher 2. All we know from the conference is that it will come out sometime in 2022. This new release will be on Xbox Series S|X and Xbox Game Pass. The team also confirmed the game’s PC release through a Twitter post.
