At this point, pretty much every anime fan is aware of My Hero Academia. The epic series has been going on for multiple years now. Many even see it as their gateway into the greater anime community. Last season left fans on a cliffhanger, so they’ve been hungry for more since then. So hungry that there’s even been a couple of games announced in its absence. The release date for My Hero Academia season 6 is currently set for Fall 2022. However, we may be getting our first taste earlier than expected. The MHA team has announced that they will have an early release of the first episode of season 6 at this year’s Hero Festival. The news comes directly from the series’ website.
Where Will MHA Take Us Next?
For those that only watch the anime, MHA couldn’t have picked a worse time to stop. The end of season 5 saw an interesting twist, in which the League of Villains took over the narrative. This gave viewers a sense of deeper understanding and a much-needed power boost. From a narrative perspective, it’s a brilliant juxtaposition to Deku’s time in Endeavor’s tutelage. Of course, in classic My Hero Academia fashion, the season ended on the cusp of a significant war between sides, expected to come to a head in season 6.
To be specific on where season 5 ended (and where MHA season 6 will begin with their early release), it was the calm before the storm. The heroes had learned some troubling info about the villains and prepared to make a two-pronged attack against them. Season 6 will likely pick up at the moment it left off. The Hero Festival (aka HeroFes) will take place on July 24th. That’s a good few months before the fall anime season starts in October. It’s unknown whether the episode will be available online. Either way, fans of anime and manga alike are looking forward to it.
