Rare are the games today that support couch co-op mode. Luckily, Party Animals is one of those games, as it lets you play with others in local-screen multiplayer. You can team up with three other friends to create a vibrant and chaotic experience at home. However, Party Animals doesn’t quite tell how to set up split-screen and start battling. Nevertheless, we are here to guide you through the steps necessary to create a split-screen session so you can dive into the furry and chaotic world of Party Animals on the same screen.
Party Animals: Local Split-Screen Multiplayer Mode Explained
To set up a local split-screen multiplayer experience for Party Animals at your home, follow these simple steps:
- From the Party Animals main menu, select Custom Game. Click on Create in the top right corner. Choose your preferred game mode and select the maps you want to play on.
- To ensure that only your chosen friends can join your game, click the lock icon next to Start.
- Now, let’s go over the harder part of the split-screen process in Party Animals. You need to connect the controllers. For Xbox: simply turn on additional controllers by pressing the power button, and it will pop up in the game menu.
For PC: Turn on the controller(s). When Party Animals detects the controller, a prompt will appear saying, “Add a new local player with this controller?” Accept to add the second player under your profile and name. Customize the team further by adding or removing AI players. - Once all controllers are connected, start the match. The split-screen display will appear, allowing you to enjoy local co-op split-screen in Party Animals.
- You can repeat the process for any Custom Match, and your friends will remain connected to your selected platform for split-screen and automatically be loaded in the next matches.

Here are a couple of things worth mentioning as you jump into the multiplayer mode:
- Keep in mind that only the primary player will gain experience. Other players are considered as guests.
- To play using your own profile, you must play online and join the lobby from there.
- Guest players can’t be added to Quick Play sessions, so save those for online play.
Now you’re ready to dive into the chaotic world of Party Animals with friends in split-screen mode. Enjoy the mayhem, and may the best animal win.
