If you’re one to enjoy side quests, there are plenty of those in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Many usually involve helping specific NPCs out, or running around, fetching different artifacts from across Hyrule. This kind of quest is the latter, called the Mysterious Eighth. It involves finding eight Gerudo Orbs, strange objects that are hiding across the desert. If you’ve started The Seven Heroines’ Secret questline and completed it previously, you may recognize a theme here: Gerudo history. Completing this questline grants a lucrative amount of Rupees, as well as a few weapons. Here’s where to find all Gerudo Orb locations and complete the Mysterious Eighth quest in Tears of the Kingdom.
All Orb Locations Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Mysterious Eighth Quest
Orb 1: Gerudo Shelter Sleeping Quarters
In case you didn’t know, this quest actually hinges on another. To complete The Mysterious Eighth quest, you’ll need to first complete The Seven Heroines’ quest. It’s a quick one, relatively, so no worries.
Orb 2: Gerudo Shelter Central Area
To get the second Gerudo Orb, head back to where you met Rotana during the Heroines’ Secrets quest. Or, if you haven’t started that yet, it’s the common area where you’ll likely find Rotana positioned near gear in the center of the room. Rotana will be investigating a Stelae when you enter the room. In front of it is your second Gerudo Orb. Pick it up with Ultrahand and carry it to the statues, leaving it in the statue with the matching symbol.
Orb 3: Gerudo Shelter Bar
The third Orb in the Mysterious Eighth quest is relatively easy to obtain. On the rightmost side of the shelter, there is a Gerudo Bar. This bar has a Gerudo Orb, near one of the many tables in the place. It’s convenient to grab; just pick it up with Ultrahand and make your way back to Rotana.
Orb 4: Dalia’s Game
To get the fourth Orb for the Mysterious Eighth quest, go to the main entrance of Gerudo Town. Once you turn right at that entrance, you’ll see your fourth Orb sitting there for the taking. However, if you do try and pick it up, you’ll be quickly halted by a Gerudo woman, Dalia. She’ll tell you that if you want the Orb, you’ll have to play a game with her. Once you finish talking to her, Dalia’s Game, a tiny sidequest, will begin. She’ll take you back to the Gerudo Shelter, where she’ll ask you to find a stuffed Sand Seal. Once you find it, talk to her again, and she’ll let you have the Orb.
Orb 5: Outside the Sand Seal Pen
The Gerudo Orb locations for the Mysterious Eighth quest are outside of Gerudo Town. One of them floats, just out on the streets of the town. The best way to gather this one up is to enter through the main gate, towards the Sand Seal enclosure. There’s a storage area next to the enclosure, where you can find the Orb sitting next to a few spears. Take it back to Rotana and the statue.
Orb 6: On the Rooftops
Another Gerudo Orb location for the Mysterious Eighth quest requires just a little bit of climbing. In Gerudo Town, you’ll find them to the left of the Palace, high up on a ruined-looking building. If you’re not one to climb or don’t have the stamina for extensive ventures, consider using Ascend to make your way upwards. After getting to the rooftops, you may be surprised to see that there is no Orb, at least right away.
Instead, you’ll see a sand pile. To uncover the Orb and get rid of all that sand, you’ll have to either make or find something that can fan it all off. Either a Fan Zonai Device or a Korok Leaf weapon will do. Once the sand is all gone, you can gather up the orb and take it back to the statue where it belongs.
Orb 7: Lost in the Dunes
To find the last Gerudo Orb and complete the Mysterious Eighth quest, you’ll have to actually venture a little bit outside of Gerudo Town. To get this final orb and complete the quest, you’ll need to travel northeast of the town to Kara Kara Bazar. Once you get there, you’ll see two Hylians looking at Gerudo Town. In front of them is the final Orb, but unfortunately, they won’t just give it to you. To get the final Gerudo Orb from them, you’ll have to find their leader, who has gone missing.

The only thing they know about their leader’s whereabouts is the fact that he may have fallen into a desert sinkhole. To find the leader of these two Hylians, you’ll need to venture on to the end of the Oasis Source. You can access this area by going to the well in Kara Kara Bazar. Once you reach the sinkhole entrance via the well, talk to him and clear his path home, which is blocked by rocks. After he returns to his two friends, you can take the orb and complete the Mysterious Eighth quest.
