pixiv announced information on Thursday that it would host its fourth annual Drawfest event on June 10th and June 17th. Drawfest 4 will host live-streaming workshops and lectures in Japanese and English. This year the festival will also host live-streamed lectures in Chinese and Korean.

The event will feature lectures from KawaiiSensei, the multimedia artist OMOCAT (the art director from the Omori RPG), and popular illustrator Ogipote. The event is expected to attract more than 10,000 participants from all around the world.
pixiv Drawfest 4 Information and Highlights for the virtual festival include;
- A lecture from OMOCAT about the production process of Omori, from the initial idea to the final release.
- A class by KawaiiSensei focuses on composition and figure drawing.
- A live drawing of the VShojo Virtual YouTuber Ironmouse, where artist Ogipote details tips for using light, shadow, special effects, and anime-style coloring effects.
- The “Draw! Draw! Draw!” illustration contest will start on Thursday, June 1st. Prizes include a Wacom One Creative Pen Display and other prizes provided by co-organizer Wacom and the various lecturers.
What to Expect Already from Drawfest 4
The artists’ lectures will take place on “Study Day” on June 10th. They will run from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm JST (June 9th, 8:00 pm to June 10th, 1:30 am EDT). There will be a Q&A session at the end of each program. “Feedback Day” will then take place next weekend on Saturday, June 17th, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm JST (June 16th, 8:00 pm to June 17th, 12:00 am EDT). On “Feedback Day,” the lecturer will comment and give advice on artwork posted to pixiv that was inspired by the program.
For those interested in joining pixiv DrawFest4, they must register in advance. Applicants will then receive an exclusive Drawfest 4 digital art book by the group SSS. They will also receive three free months on pixiv Premium. Registration will close Friday, June 16th. It might have the chance to end earlier if the event reaches full capacity.
