Mortal Kombat 1 first Season Pass is coming as a DLC, and it adds many new main and Kameo characters to the roaster. The game is out now after the early access period, and the players can enjoy the kombat in Lord Liu Kang‘s new era. However, certain fighters like Quan Chi and Ermac show up in MK1‘s story mode, while you won’t see them anywhere to choose from in the local and online matches. Now guess what, these characters are coming to MK1, alongside guests from The Boys series and the DC Universe.

The Mortal Kombat universe always has a handful of characters to offer in every entry. After the release of recent MK games, there are always Season Passes and DLCs that are introduced as Kombat Pack. These premium contents add fresh characters, items, and sometimes even new stages to the game. Now this rule is not any different for Mortal Kombat 1 whatsoever.

In the first upcoming major update for Mortal Kombat 1, we’re receiving 6 main characters. First off, we’ve got Omni-Man from the Invincible series. Then we’ve got the Homelander, ready to kombat after his appearance in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2. Next, we have John Cena as the Peacemaker taken right from HBO Max’s series.

Aside from the guests, let’s focus on the original Mortal Kombat characters now. The first character on the list here is the Outworld’s sorcerer Quan Chi. This character is seen in the story mode, but he is unplayable until you pay the money and unlock the badman in Mortal Kombat 1 Season Pass. Next up, we’ve got Ermac; a returning character since MKX. And last but not least, Kenshi Takahashi’s son, Takeda is making a return in Mortal Kombat 1 DLC. Now these were the main characters coming to the game, while there were some Kameos joining the board as well.

  • Khameleon (Chameleon)
  • Mavado
  • Tremor
  • Ferra

While the new main characters are all confirmed to be a part of the new Mortal Kombat 1 Season Pass update, some kameos are rumored to be in this first DLC. These fighters’ addition to MK1 is not confirmed in any official posts, and they’re not featured in any teasers. However, there’ll be new Kameos in the game for sure, and these characters are the top candidates for now.

First off, there’s Johnny Cage. This character is one of the main fighters in Mortal Kombat 1 as of right now, and the Kameo version of this character will probably come in the form of the MK Trilogy’s Johnny Cage. After that, we’ll hopefully see the return of Khameleon and Mavado. Khameleon, being the female version of Chameleon, is one of the secret characters of the Mortal Kombat series, appearing in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. The same goes for Movado as well, as he was absent in the recent MK titles.

The last two Kameo characters that’ll probably show up in the first Mortal Komabt 1 Season Pass are Tremor and Ferra. These two are the returning characters from MKX, which were missing from MK11‘s main Kombatants. Tremor is a member of the Black Dragon clan in the MK universe, which was once directed by Kano. On the other hand, Ferra was one of the new characters of the MKX, never seen alone. In fact, she was always paired with a symbiote called Torr. That said, there is no further information on what other items are about to be released with Mortal Kombat 1 DLC.

The exact release date for the first Mortal Kombat 1 Season Pass is currently unknown. However, it is expected to see new kombatants arrive in MK1‘s new era in early 2024. It’s also noteworthy to know that there’ll probably be more updates and DLCs coming to MK1; including story content that’ll continue the Kampaign part of Mortal Kombat 1. This will probably be like what we saw with MK11: Aftermath, where the continuation of the canon narrative was added to the game.

Mortal Kombat 1 is currently available to play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
