The lovechild of Pokemon Go and Stardew Valley is live. Before starting your adventure in Moonstone Island, it is always good to know a few tips to improve your gameplay and avoid the feeling of being stuck. You start as an Alchemist in training and your task is to collect creatures known as Spirits that you will keep in Spirits Barn, while also tending to your crops and crafts. There are a few instances where you can go wrong, including selecting your starting Spirit, selling valuable items, and exploring different islands, but we are here to help you start your journey in the best possible way in Moonstone Island.
Beginner’s Guide To Moonstone Island
In Moonstone Island you will explore procedurally generated 100 islands that hold multiple secrets and dangers. It is always good to prepare yourself with a few insights you can benefit from. With plenty of things to do, from crafting, collecting, battling, and exploring, here are 10 tips you should know before starting Moonstone Island.
Choose Starting Spirit
It is of utmost importance not to miss the tutorial guide in Moonstone Island. During the tutorial, you will select your starting Spirit. Spirits in Moonstone Island are creatures similar to Pokemon that you will collect and battle within your journey. Each of these pocket monsters possesses unique abilities and advantages. Your choice will shape your future path, so go through your options as you will be able to choose between resources, exploration, or combat.
Moonstone Island Survival Guide
The first night on the island is crucial. You will be introduced to plenty of things, including your first quest in which you need to acquire 10 Stones. The day ends at 2 A.M. after which your character will crash and start anew in the morning. Use the time you have to complete the quest by using the hammer and try to explore the island as much as possible to discover and gather other resources and treasures essential for survival. Watch out for the evil Spirits and other dangers. There is a trick to avoid unwanted battles with Spirits. If you have flowers or crops in your hot bar, select one and press R on the keyboard to drop it on the ground. This action briefly diverts other spirits’ attention, allowing you to carry on with your activities without constant interruptions.
Stamina Management Guide
In Moonstone Island, Stamina works a bit differently. While you don’t have a potion to boost up your stamina and it doesn’t replenish over time on its own, there is a rather unique and simple solution. Watch out for your Stamina pool above the inventory. If you run out of stamina it can lead to delayed wake-ups, which can then hinder your progress. As you explore various islands, you will find Hot Springs. Jump into them to regenerate stamina.
Leveling Up Spirits and Combat Guide
Like in Pokemon games, you will battle other creatures. These battles are essential in acquiring new and leveling up existing Spirits in your deck. However, the game doesn’t explain how to level up. There is a Moonstone Medallion that you need to use to level up your Spirits. This medallion will grant you access to Pocket Dimension, from where you can identify Spirits that can be leveled up. Look for the + icon above their heads. To level them up, approach the desired Spirit and initiate interaction. Choose the Level Up option, which presents you with the opportunity to boost one of the spirit’s attributes. Carefully select which stat to enhance, as this decision can significantly impact your spirit’s performance in battles.
In Moonstone Island, combat revolves around two types of cards: Attack Cards and Skill Cards. Attack Cards deal damage based on your Spirit’s element, with the potential to upgrade and add new ones as your Spirits level up. Skill Cards, on the other hand, provide buffs, debuffs, and card retrieval options, some costing no energy, making them valuable additions to your deck as you progress.
How To Get Moonstones
One of the most important things in Moonstone Island is getting Moonstones and that is why this is one of our tips for you. These are essential for crafting and building. You can find a Moonstone on every island you visit. The best way to farm for Moonstones is during the night as they emit a glow, giving away their location. Moonstones respawn each season, giving you plenty to collect over time.
Relationship Building Tips
In life-sim games relationship building is crucial for the best experience. It is no different in Moonstone Island. Start developing relationships with NPCs on the island early. Focus on general chatting after which you can delve into flirting and humor, and create a nice little ongoing romance.
Exploration Tips
With 100 different islands to search far and wide, you will need a way of transportation. At first, you will be able to craft a balloon but as you progress, you will get a broom and other means of transportation. These will allow you to move from one island to another, making it cute and interesting at the same time. Watch out for the Stamina pool along your journey. And if you lose yourself in the vast world, you can use a Warp Whistle, which is a teleportation device, found in the Northeastern corner of the starting island.
One more tip for your Moonstone Island journey. On your explorations, you will find Pillars and Arches. Interacting with them will earn you great rewards and upgrades to your spirit’s decks.
How To Get Money in Moonstone Island
You are probably wondering what is the best and easiest way to get money in Moonstone Island. There are a few ways to get precious coins. First, you will be introduced to the Research Center, located in the town’s bottom left corner. There, you can exchange your research for coins, creating a reliable income over time. The next option is to, of course, sell items.
However, Moonstone Island has a unique way of selling that you should know before starting your campaign.
To sell items in Moonstone Island, you’ll encounter selling crates, but it’s essential not to put everything in them. While many items can be sold through these crates for convenience, there are certain items best sold to specific vendors for more profit.
Gems, Seeds, and Ingots are valuable resources, so avoid selling them through the sell crate.
There is an option to buy a Fishing rod early on in the game and embark on some fishing trips. The rod itself is pretty costly at 200 coins, but it will quickly pay off as you catch unique and rare fish in the deeper waters of Moonstone Island.
Moonstone Island Farming Guide
In addition to exploring islands and collecting Spirits, farming is the next most crucial activity in Moonstone Island. To grow crops you need seeds. You will use a sickle to harvest seeds from plants that you find on your journey. These seeds can then be planted and grown into full seasonal crops. However, you need to till the soil, water the seeds, and use fertilizers to increase the stats values of your crops.
Moonstone Island Dungeons and Mines Guide
With 100 islands to explore, the developers of Moonstone Island felt that wasn’t enough and added a few below-the-surface areas for players to venture through. These include 10 dungeons that store some valuable resources, including gold, potions, upgrades, and moonstones hidden in well-guarded treasure chests. Mining is yet another activity that will provide you with essential materials for crafting and building. Do not stray away from these paths, no matter how hard and puzzling they might seem, you will earn valuable rewards in these underground locations.
These tips will help you understand the Moonstone Island before playing it and give you an upper hand right from the start.
