The Pokemon Company has released a new trailer revealing one of the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Gym Leaders, Iono. The new female Gym Leader specializes in Electric-type Pokemon and is a Pokemon influencer and video game streamer in the region of Paldea. The new trailer gives a good look at the new character and her personality and teases a brand new Pokemon that may potentially be revealed soon.
Can You Guess Gym Leader Iono’s Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?
The newest Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer gave us our first look at a brand new character, the Electric-type Gym Leader, Iono! Iono is a streamer and influencer in the world of Pokemon, and the trailer was presented in Japanese (with English subtitles) in the style of a traditional gamer stream.
During the stream, we were given a small tease about Iono’s signature Pokemon, which she asked players to guess as part of a game, providing several hints for what it could potentially be. The hints are:
- It’s squishy
- It’s a little sluggish with an easygoin’ vibe
- It has bumps on its head that people mistake for eyes
- Is Electric-type
- Its body expands and contracts to produce electricity in its belly
One of Iono’s viewers during the stream also asked if it was a Magnemite, and she pointed out the two Magnemite pins on her head. She clarified that they are just pins and that her signature is not Magnemite, but because they do not resemble Magenmite’s traditional look, it is possible it is either a new form of Magnemite or a related Pokemon, like Wiglett or Farigiraf.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are set to release on November 18, 2022, exclusively for Nintendo Switch exclusive. Players can pre-order the game now to get a variety of in-game rewards and access to special forms.
