It has been confirmed that the popular Netflix original film, The Sea Beast, will be receiving a sequel in the near future. The film was originally released on Netflix on July 8, 2022. No official release window for the film has been revealed at this time.

The Sea Beast Sequel: What Chris Williams Has in Store
The Sea Beast was first teased back in March 2022 and released on Netflix on July 8, 2022. The film was the work of director Chris Williams, of Big Hero 6 and Moana fame, and quickly found quick popularity on the platform.
Within 72 hours, it became one of the most streamed premieres on the entire platform. Director Chris Williams is now more than eager to hinge on that success with this upcoming sequel. The Sea Beast sequel is one of two projects he is hoping to put together after signing an overall deal with Netflix.
The Sea Beast follows the story of a young girl named Maisie Brumble who stows away upon the ship of legendary monster hunter Jacob Holland.
The official synopsis reads:
“In an era when terrifying beasts roamed the seas, monster hunters were celebrated heroes – and none were more beloved than the great Jacob Holland. But when young Maisie Brumble stows away on his fabled ship, he’s saddled with an unexpected ally. Together they embark on an epic journey into uncharted waters and make history. The Sea Beast takes us to where the map ends, and the true adventure begins.”
The Sea Beast sequel will follow up directly from Holland and Bramble’s adventures as they set off in search of new and exciting ventures and hunts on the high seas. There is little else known about the story or release date for the project, but more information is expected in the near future.
Williams is also working on an original fantasy as part of his deal with Netflix, heavily inspired by The Lord of The Rings.
