No matter how high your FPS is and no matter what reflexes you have, natural obstacles or the color scheme of the environment can prevent you from reacting and killing the enemy. The problem with the map being dirty from blood and gunshots is especially noticeable in CS2. Updated graphics and detailed shots and kills guarantee unique emotions from the battle but also litter the map with even larger pools of blood than before. In CSGO, players could use a couple of commands to instantly clear decals, but is there something similar in CS2? The developers are for realism, so the answer is not clear-cut.
Is There a Clear Decals Command in CS2?
The answer may differ depending on which game mode you prefer. If you play CS2 on local servers or against bots, you can enable sv_cheats 1 through the console command and then use several commands for Clear Decals. But as for online Competitive CS2 Matchmaking or the new Premier mode, you won’t be able to use the Clear Decals command, and there are some reasons for that
Previously, players accustomed to the legal use of Clear Decals commands in online CSGO modes had some advantage over players unaware of this game feature. Of course, this cosmetic advantage did not greatly affect the win rate, but it still created an imbalance. Eventually, over time, you could get used to the color of each pixel on the main map points, and any change in the environment can reveal the enemy’s location. But in CS2, the developers strive for realism, and bloody walls with indentations from shots are a common phenomenon in a war zone, and you have to come to terms with it.
On the other hand, the Clear Decals team did not completely disappear from the game. So, if you are playing with bots or on a local network, activate the “sv_cheats 1” mode to switch to cheat mode, and then use the following commands to Clear Decals in Counter-Strike 2:
- cl_removedecals
- r_csgo_render_decals false
- r_drawdecals false
Finally, we will add that players will probably have to accept this innovation. In the end, this is realism, and it is unlikely that the developers will abandon their principles after the amount of effort they put into development. And from now on, all players will have to adapt to the new realities of battle.
