As mentioned before, the special skills depend on the type of weapon you’re using. So, we have a total of six special moves, each matching a different weapon.

True Charged Slash – Great Sword

True Charged Slash is a special skill for the Great Sword weapon. As the name suggests, the Great Sword is a massive weapon known for its heavy damage output. It can be highly effective when facing large monsters. With the Great Sword, you have the ability to perform True Charged Slash skills. This special skill enables you to unleash a powerful slash that utilizes all of your strength.

Dragon Piercer – Bow

Dragon Piercer is a powerful bow attack capable of piercing through virtually anything. It has the potential to be lethal to monsters with just a single well-aimed shot. This special skill is executed using a bow and is typically used for medium-range attacks. Dragon Piercer has a total of four levels, each offering different abilities and strengths.

Perfect Rush Combo – Sword and Shield

The Perfect Rush Combo is a powerful and consecutive sword attack combo. It demands precise timing and execution, but when done correctly, it can inflict substantial damage on your target. This combo is typically performed using the Sword and Shield weapon, and it leaves little room for enemies to retaliate, making it an effective offensive maneuver.

Spinning Bludgeon – Hammer

Similar to the Perfect Rush Combo, the Spinning Bludgeon is a special move where you swing your hammer multiple times. Finally, with this move, you swing the hammer around before executing a mighty hammer strike from above. This technique is particularly effective for those who prefer a bashing approach over slashing attacks.

Spirit Helm Breaker – Long Sword

This move is performed with the Long Sword, and it requires having a Spirit Gauge, which you fill up by landing consecutive attacks. Like the previous special moves, it involves a powerful strike from above, but this time it’s with the Long Sword.

Wvernblast Counter – Light Bowgun

If you prefer to stay at a safe distance during combat, the Wyvernblast Counter provides that option. This powerful special skill allows you to shoot a potent bullet that triggers a large explosion, dealing substantial damage to monsters. To use it, you’ll need a Light Bowgun as your weapon of choice.

How to Perform Special Skills in Monster Hunter Now?

To perform a Special Skill in Monster Hunter, it’s a bit like what you do in many other video games. You need to hit the monsters with your attacks, and that fills up a special meter shown as a small orange circle above your character.

Once that meter is full, just press the Special Skill button, and your hunter will do a really strong attack. But here’s the catch: you have to make sure your weapons are upgraded to Grade 2 using the right materials for this to work.

So, there you have it all the information regarding special skills in Monster Hunter Now. Meanwhile, you can also check out how to change weapons in Monster Hunters.
